Dentists and hygienists often give coffee a bad rap, mostly because it stains the teeth. At our office, we support the dark bean and don't mind cleaning after it too!! There is not any associated health risks if you keep within a moderate level of coffee intake. That's three, 8oz of cups a day.
There are actually some health benefits to coffee. One study found that drinking coffee may reduce the risk of developing the most common form of diabetes, as well as Alzheimer's and liver disease. Drinking coffee also appears to lower the risk of developing skin cancer. Both caffeine and exercise work together to kill off pre-cancerous cells whose DNA has been damaged by UVB rays. Coffee contains antioxidants and can reduce the muscle pain you feel after a workout and increase mental concentration!
